Vasyl Tkachenko (Lyakh)

Installation for PinchukArtCentre

The project combines painting, video, and sound to create the illusion of a surreal walk through personal memory.
The viewer is immersed in a journey across landscapes that are no longer physically accessible – places from the south of Ukraine shaped by loss, distance, and time.

The scenes depict Mariupol and its surroundings – locations the artist continuously returns to in memory.
Through projection, his figure is reintroduced into these painted spaces, moving within them while accompanied by an internal dialogue.

A reflection on absence, transformation, and the fragile connection between past and present.
